The geological time period that we are currently living in is otherwise known as earths sixth mass extinction event. More than 540 land vertebrate species breathed their last during the 20th century, and the same amount will vanish within the next 20 years.
The Anthropocene will be man's contribution to this event, and these chimps - our closest living cousins - will inevitably be affected.
